Denise's Oregon Roots
Denise’s Oregon roots go deep. Her mother, grandparents, and great-grandparents were all Oregonians.
In 1947, the Portland Oregonian published a front-page article about Denise’s great-grandmother titled, “Widow Builds 7 Room Home with $400, 3 Borrowed Tools.” Widowed with five children, Martha Kephart lost her home to fire and had to build a new home for her family. She was industrious, capable, and determined. Times are certainly different now, but Denise inherited these qualities and is ready to put them to work to serve Jackson County.
